You can now order “Lellie The Different Elephant” a book written by Lois Ann Garza. I illustrated the book with colored pencils. These pieces were the last done with this medium. For the brighter pieces, I used inks to create an under-painting.Read More...
I finished the artwork for a piggy book I’ve been working on since last October. It was a tight deadline! For this book, I continued experimenting with mixed media and this time I incorportated colored pencil. I had never done that before and I liked the results!
Book will be out Summer 2011 and I’ll post more info as I get the OK from the publisher. In the meantime, a little something…

It’s been a hectic busy couple of months so here’s a post to update you on everything that’s going on:
NEW BOOK “THE NIGHT BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY BOOK”
I’m currently working on a multicultural picture book written by Joni Rubinstein. Dummy is all done and I’m painting the spreads at the moment. Release will be Spring 2011. I’ll post more about the book soon. Here’s a sneak peek. Read More...
I got the news today – “The Magic Bluebells” will be out some days before Thanksgiving. So you can add it to your Christmas list!! If you are interested in getting a copy, drop me a line.
A couple of illustrations from the Chapter Book about Vicki and Kate. Enjoy!
After many moons, Piggies have finally left the Studio. I took some pictures while I was working on the last piece so you can see how neat my studio looks when I’m working with colored pencils. You really don’t want to visit when I’m working my mixed media pieces.
I don’t have a release date for “I Can Cook” yet. I’ll be sure to post the info as soon as I get the news from the EECI. I’ll include the list of retailers that will carry copies of the book. Can’t wait to see it printed!
A picture of the last piece for the project – a double spread activity page.
During the last few months, I’ve been working on a picturebook/chapter book by Richard O’Malley – The Magic Bluebells.
As a request from his wife, I have painted with my older illustration style. Both Jeanne and Richard saw my work of “The Wall” and fell in love with the line art.
Jeanne is a lovely lady and a wonderful person to work with. She’s so patient! So without further a do, one of the illos.
Piggies are back from the shop and at the publisher already. A couple of them below. The cover is on the works as I type.
My piggies’ book is almost finished. Only have to paint the cover. Here’s the first round for the cover.
Piggies for all interior pages are being scanned as I write. Should get them back on Thursday. Boy, I miss them. A pretty bad scan of page 6 below. Aren’t they happy?
Forgot to mention that Mami Pig was changed. She gained a few pounds and lost the stars on her head. She’s still cute, though.
